  1. Actually that is the Sablon church. Place Sablon (de Zavel in Dutch) is the nice and open space behind the church, which is not visible here. It's surrounded by fancy expensive antique shops, pricy bars, and even pricier chocolatiers.

    Across the street (so just outside the right border of the picture) there is a tiny park called Petit Sablon, which is a great place to sit down during the summer and read a good book. Don't walk on the grass though! The park attendants tend to become quite annoyingly unfriendly if you do so.

    Basically, it's one of the really posh bits of downtown Brussels. Figured it might be interesting as background info ;-)

  2. Thank you! I am a total newbie still. I had lunch at Le Parrequet near the sablon which was super cheap and amazing. If you havent been GO!
